Self-riding gives you the thrill of taking control. You're the one behind the handlebars, choosing where to stop, when to take a photo, or which hidden tea stall to pull for a quick break.
What It’s Like:
You’re in full control of the pace and route.
You can stop for buffalo crossings, secret viewpoints, or just to breathe in the mountain air.
It’s just you, the road, and the loop, pure adventure.
But… it’s not always easy. The roads in Ha Giang are beautiful but they can be steep, narrow, and winding. If you’ve never ridden in the mountains before, I’d recommend thinking twice unless you’re really comfortable on two wheels.

At Jasmine Tours, we provide well-maintained motorbikes including:
Semi-automatic Honda Blade 110cc (great for beginners)
Manual Honda CRF 150cc, XR 150, and Suzuki HJ125cc (for experienced riders)
And don’t worry! We don’t just hand you a bike and wave goodbye. We’ll give you a proper safety briefing, a test ride, route tips, and even check your riding posture if needed.

How to Choose the Right Motorbike for Ha Giang
Now, if you prefer to sit back and soak in the scenery without worrying about riding, our easy-rider tours are exactly what you need.
This means one of our experienced local guides, people like me will do the riding motorbike or Jeep/SUVs for you. You hop on the back and enjoy the view, take photos, chat with locals at tea breaks, and learn stories of the land you’re passing through.
Why travelers love easy-riders:
You don’t need to worry about navigating tricky roads or bad weather.
It’s more relaxed and you can truly enjoy every stop and moment.
Our guides are also storytellers, we don’t just ride, we share Ha Giang with you.
It’s especially great for couples, solo travelers, or those who want to focus more on the cultural experience than the technical riding.

Motorbike Tour Safety Tips You Should Know
We don’t believe one style is better than the other as it depends entirely on who you are and how you like to travel.
Go self-riding if you:
Have required documents (IDP) for riding legally in Vietnam
Ride regularly back home and are confident on rough roads
Like having full control over your schedule
Are okay with getting a bit dirty or riding through rain

Go easy-rider if you:
Have little or no motorbike experience
Prefer comfort and cultural connection over challenge
Want to take in the sights and not stress about road conditions
And remember: the views, the culture, and the stories are just as beautiful either way.

When you visit our office, I’ll usually ask you a few things to help you decide:
Have you ridden a motorbike in the mountains before?
Do you enjoy physical challenges or prefer relaxing and observing?
Are you okay with unpredictable weather or would that stress you out?
Are you traveling with someone else who’s unsure about riding?
These questions aren’t a test, they’re to make sure you have the best experience possible. We’ve had riders switch to easy-rider halfway through and say it was the best choice they made!
